Forcing jobs to have Task Type "DUMMY"

Post by osafr71 » 05 Feb 2014 1:01

Hi there,

I have Control-M server 7 installed and sometimes i use the BYPASS option to do that, but i need to do this to a several number of Jobs and i need to using in command.

Is it possible? Like ctmpsm -update options?

Regards,

osafr71,

Changing the tasktype of your jobs into dummy will have no effect on the scheduling of your jobs.
as you noticed, ctmpsm does not provide any "bypass" option similar to what is provided by the EM GUI.
You may add missing conditions using ctmcontb utility, or change the timefrom using ctmpsm -fullupdate. This option is quite dangerous, for it removes any "list" parameters such as conditions, resources etc.. from the job definition in AJF.
If you need to use the bypass option too often, this probably means that your global schedule is not designed properly and that you should review it rather than changing it every day.
