CTM5507 Agent encountered error, failed to read file

Post by klestraw » 07 Oct 2008 11:09

I have jobs which run on Unix server; when moving jobs to Windows server, I get this error. I move the job by changing the node and updating the script from '.ksh' to '.cmd'. Full message: Rejected by Data Center CTM5507 Agent encountered error. Failed to read file. Can't view, edit or execute my JCL. Help and thanks.

Hallo,
look in the manual:

5507 AGENT ENCOUNTERED ERROR { orderNumber | Write to File Failed }
Explanation: A CONTROL-M/EM user performed a Kill, View JCL/Script, or
Edit JCL/script request for a job, but the request was rejected due to a problem
that was encountered with the CONTROL-M/Agent to which the job was
submitted.
The problem can be an internal problem (while trying to transfer the request) or
due to the fact that this CONTROL-M/Agent is unavailable.
System action: The user request is rejected.
User response: Do the following:
1. Check that the CONTROL-M/Agent on which this job runs in is in Available
status.
2. Try to resubmit the request. If it fails again, check for any relevant error
message in the proclog directory of the CONTROL-M/Server and the
CONTROL-M/Agent.
3. In case the problem persists, contact BMC Software technical support.

To see why it is failing you should put the agent is debug mode.

From the Agent machine run ctmagcfg ansd set Diagnostic level to 4. Rerun job. Collect the logs from <Agent>\Proclog and send files to BMC support
