Agent will not stay available

Hi all,
I am currently trying to migrate from 6.2.01 to 6.3.01. I have successfully migrated all data but when I try to run a job against an agent from the 6.3 version the agent goes unavailable. Agent will stay available until a job is submitted to it. Any suggestions on what I need to check for?

Hi,

Determine the version of the Control-M Agent and verify that the "Communication Protocol Version" parameter for this Control-M Agent is set properly.

1. Run the ctm_menu utility
2. Select option "6 - Parameter Customization"
3. Select option "4 - Default Parameters for Communicating with Agent Platforms" and check the "Communication Protocol Version" for all agents
4. Select option "5 Parameters for Communicating with Specific Agent Platforms" if you want to set a different protocol version for specific agent
4a. Enter the hostname of the agent
4b. Verify that the parameter "Communication Protocol Version" is set corectly

Communication Protocol Version Valid values are:
06= for 6.1.0x and 6.2.0x
07= for 6.3.0x

It's true, you absolutely must modify CONVERSION value from 06 to 07, and install different existing FIXPACK to solve some communication issues.

The protocol version must be alineate between controlm SERVER and AGENT. So you have a 6.3 agent and Walty is true:

06= for SERVER version 6.1.0x and 6.2.0x
07= for SERVER version 6.3.0x

If you have migrate only the agent and not the server... is better migrate the server too.
