Control-M/Agent v6.2 & VMware ESX 3

Can anyone confirm if Control-M/Agent 6.2 is compatible on VMware ESX servers? I know I can install an Agent on the Virtual Server, but thats not my question. I would like to be able to schedule jobs on the ESX level in order to schedule shutdown & startups of the virtual machines.

Any info would be greatly appreciated, Thanks in advance.

Hi Fabian

I already tested to install a Control-M Agent under ESX Server succesfully.
You must open internal firewall port to work on it.

The firewall port you opened up was the Server to Agent port right.

My next step now is to reach out to BMC to find out what type of support they provide for VMware ESX. As well as reaching out to the folks at VMware & ask the same.

You need to open all ports, Agent to Server, Server to Agent and the Tacker too.
