Job Status Delay

Post by ajomarquez » 12 Aug 2011 8:49

Hi,

We are experiencing an occassional problem with the Job Status not updating in a timely fasion.

Is there any way to find out why the status of "Ended OK" was not recorded when the job actually completed (18 seconds after it started).

* This situation has occurred before, this isn't the first time.

The sysout stats show that the job ran from 0816 to 0823.
The job statistic shows 0816 to 0816 (an 18 second run)
The log log reflects the same timing as the sysout stats...

I had this same issue with 6.04.01.300. The job had 'ON' statements that evaluated the sysout for a word pattern. When I removed the 'ON' statement and corresponding 'DO' steps, the job status updates returned to normal.

We do have on conditions on this job, but we may not be dealing with the same issue. The job in question is cyclic (every 1 minute) and not every execution is delayed. Maybe once a day on average.

Was your job cyclic?

One other thing to note is that the job statistic for the execution in question is strange...

Sysout stats:
08:15 to 08:15
08:16 to 08:23 (this is the run in question)
08:23 to 08:24

Job Stat:
08:15 to 08:15
08:22 to 08:23 (why from 08:22 when the job started at 08:16)
08:23 to 08:24

Is it possible that there is a problem with the Tracker process on the agent?

The job I mentioned is also cyclical and executes every 5 minutes.
