AFT trasnfers extremly slow

Post by niras » 10 Apr 2011 3:29

Hi-

We have AFT trasnfer defined to post files to our vendor. It is taking extremly long time to uplaod files.

197 MB file takes 25 minutes!!

Account is defined to use SSL-passive mode to connect our vendor FTP server.

Strange thing is when I test with third party client(such as wsftp-pro/Core-ftp ) from same machine ,it takes less than a minute !!

Any thoughts are appreciated

Hi,
I know there are some problems with SFTP protocol.
Try this solution:

The reduced performance may be due to both accounts being defined as SFTP accounts. If both accounts are defined as SFTP accounts, two connections are created - one to each FTP server on each host. This causes each packet of data to be read from the local host on the local FTP server then sent to the remote FTP server. The unnecessary overhead that is causing the preformance hit is the local account being defined as SFTP instead of non-SFTP.

In order to improve the performance, define the local account to be a local connection and not an SFTP connection. After changing the account attempt the file transfer again.

Thank you sir

I have few accounts defined as suggested in which case ,it works fine.

I didnot think an account with two host ftp servers with sftp is causing the issue. If this is the case,it is a performance issue of AFT
