Generating Global Conditions with older ODATE

Post by planteam » 07 Oct 2010 1:13

Hi everyone,

We run several jobs giving out Global Conditions to other jobs on different Control-M Servers and it works fine.
Now we're running some jobs with older ODATE (specificly from last month: 100902, 100903, etc.). The out condition is given on their Control-M Server, but GCS doesn't replicate the condition on the other Control-M Servers.

On another thread, philmalmaison wrote something about the automatic cleaning of Global Conditions:
GCS_DIAG.19585.20100201.0:0309 04:17:33.140: GCS: CLNT_MGR::clean_old: Deleted all Conditions that where not changed for 86400 minutes

Is it in any way related? If so, where can I see the date/time settings for GCS? If not... any ideas? :?

Hi,

Look the parameter limit_gcs_distrib_max_days and limit_gcs_distrib_activate in the $HOME/appl/ecs/resource/Defaults.rsc file

-Range of days for which conditions can be distributed. Default: 7.
-Enable and Disable limitations. Default:1

See CONTROL-M/Enterprise Manager Admin Guide : Parameters for the Global Conditions distribution facility

Thanks Walty! :)

I searched the Control-M Admin Guide and found only instructions regarding a Unix-like installation.
As we have a Windows installation, I looked up the value in
C:\Program Files\BMC Software\CONTROL-M EM 6.4.01\Default\Gtwgcs\appl\ecs\resource\Defaults.rsc

However, the value simply isn't there.
Should I just add it? If so, does it make a difference where I insert it in the document?

Hi,

If the value is missing, you use the default value.
For best lisibility in your file add this lines in the GCS block.

You find instructions in CONTROL-M Administrator Guide 6.4 (p88, p108)
After changes, recycle Gateway and Global Conditions Server (GCS)

Thanks! ;)

Just one more question, though: we have 3 Control-M Servers, 1 Windows + 2 MVS, so we have 3 Gateways.

Should I recycle all 3 of them or will it suffice to recycle the Windows Control-M Gateway?

Thanks again for all the help! :)

Hi,

Recycle the Gateways, Gui Server and Global Condition Server to make sure the new change take effect.

Recycle only if it's marked at "manual" parameter.
