Error installing CTM server 7 with MSSQL port 5301

Post by k2p6v5s » 29 May 2011 10:25

Good day all,

I am having some trouble installing Control-/Enterprise Manager 7.0.00 with remote MSSQL database

My MSSQL server TCP port is not the default 1433 but no matter what I do the installation is trying to connect to port 1433 and fails with error “The host has refused your TCP/IP connection”.

“MSSQL Server name: “ field refuses to accept “,5301“ convention.

Using Sql Server configuration manager to set default TCP port to 5301 in client did not help.

Found nothing on the installation manual or searching the net.

Platform is WS2008R2 and MSSQL 2008 remote server

Please advice, I’m losing some hair over this.

BMC clarified that Control-m 7 installation check for the default port for the installation. They have CAR on this and it was clarified that we can not change that port after installation also.So we have to use the default port 1433 for the installation of Control-M with MSSQL.
let me know if any clarification required.
