Schedule job every 20 days

Post by PI_Check » 04 Dec 2011 12:14

Hi,

How can I schedule a job to run every 20 days without using calendar? I have tried to use the cyclic "rerun every 20 days" and i did not select any days/ month in the scheduling tab. IT doesn't seems to work.

Would appreciate if someone can advise me?

Thanks in advance

if you want the job to run on first 20 days of a month, then simply select those dates in Days section or try to use specific dates option on the right

No, I need to schedule the job to run every 20days fron today...so if the job runs on the 1st then the subsequent job suppose to run again on 20th...and so on...

Any idea, anyone?

Thanks in advance!

Hello, i think you must define a periodic calendar.
Because If I understood correctly, you want to run the job on 01 then at 20 and then at 10 next month.
You can't do that without a calendar.

PI_Check,

As everyone told you, there is no automatic solution to your problem using control-m calendars. You may use a periodic calendar, as suggested by vassi168, but this will force you to manually input your calendar and update it year after year, which is very boring and error prone.

Another solution is to dummy out the job after it has been ordered, based on a date comparison.
I have such a solution which is implemented in a %%PRECMD, which I could document furthermore

Cheers

Hi All,

Thanks for your reply.

Nicolas_Mulot,
Would you mind sharing more on your solution on using %%PRECMD? I am not very good at Control-M. Just beginner only :P

Thanks!
