Batch scheduling and SOA integration?

Post by Juressen » 18 Sep 2007 3:28

How do you see the lack of information within the OSA hype where there is almost NO information how to integrate with batch scheduling products.
All the focus goes to the fancy XML tranmission of nearly transactional webservices, but no remarks about requirements to integrate with batch schedulers (which nowadays can also incorporate webservices and messaging services).
When we do want to exchange data between platforms/companies and the volume of data is not suitable for messaging (and we want to use FTP), we probably still see this as a part of a service, but this one we probably want to manage it with a batch scheduling product which can submit/monitor the various batches to accomplish this.
How can we get the integration of a batch scheduler within the SOA program?

The Controlm module: "BMC CONTROL-M Business Process Integration Suite" can be very powefull integration with web services.

Look in the bmc.com site for documentation:

As mentioned by the reply (and also partially demonstrated at the event) we offer the BPI (Business Process Integration) suite, answering this need. Indeed, due to missing overlap between audiences, we do find some difficulties giving it the right exposure. Your thoughts and/or platform for a better coverage and exposure can be appreciated here as well.
