Were very usefull if can be possible to search from the desktop in all the fields af the job definition to select only tables that contens job that have some values in that fields.
For example:
- find in the AFT fields all the jobs with some file names
- find the jobs that have some variables with one value
- find jobs that have quntitative resource with some name or some value
- find the job that have some e-mail message of subject or to address
- etc.
And from the result of the search, select the tables to load fron EM.
I do this kind of search directly from the controlm DB, but were fine if were a tool in control-m software, because are things that we need often.

Yes, we can build some tools for seraching but theses can also be done best in the controlm interface, like the find/collection or mass update utilities. A product like controlm can have these search tools more powerfull, I think so.
And for now i build them ...

Search tool for job definitions - looking inside this item, it looks like the specific request is for supporting application (or CM's) job attributes such as file names (of the AFT CM), auto edit variables etc.
At the usability front, we are investing these days on a mechanism which will allow filters and queries both on multi-instances attributes (such as variables) as well as application fields (such as AFT).
Queries, Viewpoints, reports, find & update are all theoretically planned to support these complex job attributes. Hopefully and depending on the success of this research, this will become available with our next major release.
