Control-M Server Port 2370

Post by BreakFix » 04 Feb 2011 1:35

Hi Folks,

I have some unusual port behaviour on a Control-M Server, wondering what might cause it.

From the /EM server I use TCPView to check that ports 2369, 2370 and 2371 are open and available on a remote Control-M Server. The port are open and operational and everything appears fine.
Local Address = /EM Server
Remote Address = /Control-M Server

However I can't use TELNET to open port 2369 - 2371.
This has always worked in the past and continues to work for other Control-M servers in the environment.

Example command: "TELNET <CTM_server> 2370".

I don't understand why the /EM establishes a connection but i can't connection again (normally can) using TELNET.

Any thoughts?

6.4.01.200 (FixPack pending but not pertinent in my view at this time)

Can't anderstand all, but :
for each control-m server in 6.4 you must reserve 2 communication TCP/IP ports number.
One for the gateway, one for the Configuration agent.
So when you install the first controlm server 2369/2370 ports numbers are keeped by default.
installing a new gateway for a new server must be after (2371/2372) for example.
Hope it can help you.

Sorry this case is only when you install more than one controlm server on the same host...
