BIM WEB Interface and Tomcat Installation Issue

Post by fyot » 13 Jul 2006 3:43

If you want to use Tomcat product to create a web access to BIM you need to know following points:

Tomcat Installation
To install Tomcat you need to dowload pakckage from http://tomcat.apache.org.
Read RUNNING.txt file included int the Tomcat package and follow all steps.

JDK Installation
You need to use Java Development Kit (JDK) version 1.4.x or later.
To download the package use that following links http://java.sun.com/javase/downloads/index.jsp
Install JDK on your server too.

Existing in BMC Software documentation for BIM 6.2.01 but not in 6.1.03 you need to copy tools.jar file fom JDKHome/lib to tomcatHome/common/lib directory.

Can the web server run on the same server as the Control-M EM? We are running 6.2.01 on Solaris and would like to run the web server on the same box.

Did anyone have any difficulty installing BIM? I was told it was an easy install but have not found that to be true so far.
