Control-M Documentation Needed

Post by Sameer » 17 Aug 2007 11:33

Hi,

I am new to Control-M. I have a basic knowledge about jobs and enterprise manager. Can anyone forward me any manual on using SAP module and BIM, and how to install it in Control-M EM or Desktop. I have read the PDF but not able to understand it.
If anybody has any customised manual on Control-M please forward me.

Assuming Unix environement :
Understanding Control-m / CM for SAP ?
Could you explain what is your problem to install it ?

overall the installation process doesn't look to give particular difficulties
follow the bmc install documentation:
copy the distribution to a place accessible to your control-m agent concerned by SAP PROGICIEL
logon as root to stop agent services (by <HOME>/ctm/script/shut-ag)
logon as controlm agent and execute the following:
<install>/Unix/setup.sh

CM SAP

just to work correctly, you will have to download from the net, the RFC library corresponding to your agent OS and KERNEL type on http://service.sap.com/rfc-library

extract them by sapcar (unix) or SAPCAR.exe and copy them to
<Agent>/CM/SAP/EXE/
<Agent>/EXE/
in Unix

and

<Agent>\CM\SAP\EXE\
<Agent>\EXE\
in windows

after this you have to import the SAP Panel to be useable by Control-m / EM
using desktop / tools / import applications forms
browse to you installation CD the Forms directory

so stop and restart all control-m / EM components to use this newly imported SAP Panel

otherwise it is true that many other concept to see like "control-m function modules" to perform tasks not provided by SAP standards API's

does it help you ?
