path on windows agent computer

Post by hipikll » 31 Dec 2007 1:09

i'm testing 6.3. version agent (with fixpack2) on windows computers, and i have determined, that the system "path" was not edited correctly by installer, so if i want to run some job with utility from <agent_directories>/exe it always give me a "command not found".
Where can be a problem?
If i run a job with command "path" the Control-M Agent\Default\Exe is not listed here.
If i run it from command line as user loged on computer, the path is correct.

in previous version it works out of box.

thanx

Hi Hipikll.
I have realized, right now, that you have to select "Logon as User" if you want to use a <ctmagent> path in system environments under job.

Now I have to test:
If i run the agent not as System, but under User Account, will it use the right path?

the ansver will be given by ... me ..

Thanks :-D

(just like schizophrenic)

Control the system variable %path% in:
"Mycomputer/advanced/system variables"
or in the command shell the command path.

If here is correct must work but wharnig you must lonog and logoff the user after the installation of the agent (or reboot) ....
:(

Another possible problem is if there are many BMC controlm component installed on the same machine with other programs: the default path is very log string and can be more than the maximum lenght....:
in this case use the "compressed" method to write it.
