Control-M system date,time

Post by rancho » 14 Jan 2012 1:56

To change control-m system date & time we use ctm_menu command and go to options 6>Parameter Customization-->3>System Parameters and shout destination tables-->2>System Parameters-->1>Day Time

when i am entering time it is asking for + or - sign before entering time

can any body explain the concept of sign in time in control-m perspective

Well, It's basically how many hours to NEWDAY from midnight.
+ or - midnight.
So if your NEWDAY is at , say, 0600 AM, then it would be +0600, if its at 0700 AM , it would be +0700.
That is what i believe it is, but I am not too sure... we use it the same way though. It's always better to get a second opinion :)
Thanks!Winsome

The value is not number of hours, but rather the absolute time when new day occurs.

+ or - is to specify new day change to occur after or before midnight, respectively.

At +07:00, the period between midnight and 7am belongs to previous day. That is Monday 06:59 is ODATE Sunday and Monday 07:01 is ODATE Monday.

At -22:00, the period between 22:00 and midnight belongs to next day. That is Monday 21:59 is ODATE Monday and Monday 22:01 is ODATE Tuesday.
