Exploitation server Controlm & localhost's agent

Post by Ozarm » 29 Oct 2008 5:38

I installed ControlM_Agent on applicative address and after action post-install I modify the CONFIG.dat /produits/agent620/ctm/data
for example and after make server_discover on nodeid hctrlm15
....
LOCALHOST hctrlm15
....

if launch ag_diag_comm
his procedure runs for about 30 seconds. Please wait

On ControlM_server 620 +dbversion SYBASE 12.5.3
I want to get back with sql_query found the local host where agent is installed? Not found this information from table CMR_AJF & I keep only host_appli hctrlm15 (and not hsun3b)
so it's possible? (with specific script)
or
must I launch job_draft by agent with command job hostname.

thank's for your answer.

I found only command for check nodeid/host_machine

ssh -T NODEID (applicative adress) hostname

because from CTM_SERVER i don't find any information in database about nodeid/host machine.

I do not understand to. But ... i have found no mention about discovering the agent on server site, and after that the server will know about your agent (if that is your problem).

use ctm_menu -> 9 -> discover agent (hostname must be recognized in hosts or dns)

or command ... (i think) ctmping with 'discover' flag

Or your question was only about the
ctm_agstat -list '*'?

In fact,

agent is installed with appli_adress (=NODEID) and not host_machine.
So, agent_discover bind is NODEID.

From CTM_SERVER (table CMR_AJF) it's possible to known association
NODEID & host_machine?SQL?

or if i launch ag_diag_comm from agent
...
LOCAL_HOST : toto (titi)
becasue after installation I modify local_host inCONFIG.dat

I found just this command : ssh -T NODEID hostname
for example
NODEID : titi
host_machine : toto
discover agent on server :
via ctm_menu
9
6 : NODEID

Hi Ozarm

It's not a control-m issue.
Your appli_address is like an alias and normaly you associated an IP address with that alias.

So it's not possible to resolve hostname, unless you defined same IP address than your appli_address.

Using nslookup network function, you must be able to know from the IP address, name resolved from your DNS.
