Steps tab sequence?

Post by Winsome » 30 Sep 2010 2:52

Hi,

I am using Controo M 6.4 and I have doubt on the sequence of commands followed in Steps tab. Does it follow the sequence in which it was mentioned or it takes all the command at once?
For eg:
On stmt * Code OK
Do Rerun
On stmt * Code NOTOK
Do OK

In the above scenario, I want the job to rerun only if ends fine, and when it fails i want it to Do OK , so that it shows it ended OK in the GUI.
But in Control M 6.4 i found that for this scenario whenever a job fails , it ends Ok and then it does a rerun (as per the first command). But in Control M 6.3 ver it always followed sequence it is entered in! Can somebody help me and tell me if this is because of Control M 6.4 or am I doing something wrong, if yes then what is the right way to do it? And also is it the seq in the Steps tab or Seq in the syout of the job?

Why are you not using the concepts COMPSTAT=0 or COMPSTAT!0 instead of OK and NOTOK ?
