Delay of 15 minutes in PS8 job

Post by catchtony » 04 Jun 2010 1:08

Hi, I have a requirement where I need to add a delay of 15 minutes between JOB A and JOB B. Both the jobs are PS8 jobs, I had tried using PRECMD in set tab of JOB B but it does'nt consider the delay as it is a PS8 job. Finally I have to add a UNIX jobs in between and added sleep 900 in the command line. Is there any better way where I don't need to add a job to make a delay ??

Have you tried the %%POSTCMD in Job A (sleep command)?

Your way is the only (easy) way, if PRECMD or POSTCMD does not work (as you mentioned),
CTM does not have any 'add delay' feature :(.

I know I can add the POSTCMD in Job A...but the problem is that there are 100 of jobs ...so manually updating each job would be tedious. Anything else we can work around ?

Thanks for the replies.

so export your jobs to flat file (xml) and edit the file. It should be fast. Then import them back.

If you're using 6.4. - you can do it by Mass Update.
