Cyclic job on hold

We have a cyclic job that loads in every new day and runs every 6 hrs. during the 24 hour period.

If this job is put on hold anytime during the 24 hours; when the hold is taken off, it does not resume it's schedule.

Is this normal for a cyclic job? If not normal, does anyone have an idea what we need to lookat/do?
