Are there any 'secret' or undocumented control-m commands to use in batch jobs? - such as '_shout'

i recommande you to have a look to controlm server admin guide, searching about utilities, most of that utilities should be used in batch mode.

_shout'
For example for sending a shout use the utility:
ctmshout

-USER <username> or -DEST <d
-MESSAGE "<messageText>"
[ -ORDERID <orderID>]
[ -NODEID <nodeID>]
[ -SEVERITY <severityLevel>]
