The filesystem of v7 /app/emt700
Filesystem of the new v9 machine will be /app/emt900

The upgrade document provided by BMC is only applicable if the same filesystems is defined in both the OLD and NEW machines.
How can I perform the upgrade when the business requires to change the filesystem name and the EM user account?

Do I need to add the same FS into the new machine together with the new FS, say
/app/emt700
/app/emt900

Then migrate and change the permissions and ownership of emt700 to emt900?

Not sure, but Migration is done by Export and import utilities in Migration Toolkit.

Do we have any dependency on File System also, as its just that you install Control-M v9 on New Server, and run migration toolkit from old Machine and Export it in new machine.

It's just probably within the business environment that it has dependencies on how it has been setup.
