Control M V8.0 Installation and Upgrade from V7 to V8

Post by Tamil » 18 Apr 2014 8:14

Hi All,

We are planning to upgrade our environment from CTM V7 to V8.

Current Environment:

We have our ContolM/EM and 4 Control M servers in one Unix HP-UX box(Cluster with Postgrey DB).

1) Is there a way that we can install the new version 8.0 in the same box and do the migration? If yes, How we can create the ControlM server user accounts with the same name what we are using now. If we need to change the account names, then I have to change the owner ID's in many of the jobs when we are moving to this new environment.. Is this correct?

2) We also have Mainframe ZOs server, but managed by other vendor. But we have dependencies with many of the mainframe jobs. Since we are planning to do the upgrade for the EM. How we can upgrade the Mainframe environment where we dont have any control. What we need to inform the mainframe team for the upgrade?

3)What do you think the minimum memory and disc space requirements for CTM/EM and 4 Control M servers in one Unix box.

4) We have PeopleSoft, Self-Service, BIM, AFT and Forcast CTM modules. Do we need to do any activities(Installation or Upgrade) for these modules to reflect in the new version 8.0

Thankind in Advance!
