Post by Samarth_Vyom » 28 Jul 2011 1:21

Is thr any tool which will validate the conditions of the job?
(i.e tool should be able to validate IN/OUT condition and show error if they are not balanced)

Thanks in advance

Explain what you mean by validation.

Supose there are 100+ jobs,
We have some scripts which will pick the jobs details from excel sheet and convert them in to xml files.
If while filling excel sheet application team member has done some mistake in putting the condition in proper place.
In present senario, we have to check the condition manually.

In CTM we have loopdetecttol, which detects the loop in the jobs. This tool is not catering my requirement.

I want some tool or script which will take xml file as input and give output after checking the unbalanced condition.

Basically you are looking to validate that jobs the in-condition exists for jobs relying on that in-condition. Do you have Forecasy tool installed?

There is a tool XINFO, which covers a lot of different areas, but also analyses Control-M and have all data in it's own DB (e.g. all Conditions) and gives you a graphical flowchart which shows "not matching conditions". See slide 27 in that presentation:

Maybe the best and easy to set up validation tool for checking if the input and output conditions are correctly set is VISUALjob for Control-M.
Since VISUALjob for Control-M also provides forecast functionality, you can also identify inconsistent input and output conditions for future run days.
Feel free to check this out. There is a free 30 day trial available.
