Hi,

Use these steps in Control-M EM.

Go to Tool ----> Options --- > FlowDiagram ----> Links ---> Change "display optional in condition" from dotted to solid and Press Ok.

these steps may solve your problem.

rahul

EM server needs to communicate to an open port on your XP. Firewall on your XP or between your XP and EM server may block data flow into XP.

as you've installed the client on a static communication port number (13075 by default), you have to authorize communication beetween twice host by it.

Hy,
first EM hat a problem with firewall and second start the orbconfigure.vbs utility on your local maschine "EM-Home-Default-Bin" and set the public adress on use full qualifing host name.
Then you must'n have problem with ViewPoints.

Hi Friends,

Thanks for your replies. The port 13075 is opened in both the sides i.e from EM server and client. Also when i was trying to start orbconfigure.vbs form C:\Program Files\BMC Software\CONTROL-M EM 6.3.01\Default\bin, i am getting error saying that "The system cannot find the file specified."

Ricky

Domain Settings panel
The orbconfigure GUI enables you to specify “well-known” addresses for CORBA
components. Use the following steps to do this:
1 Ensure you have JRE version 1.4.1 or higher installed on your computer.
2 Set JAVA_HOME to JRE installation, for example: D:\Javasoft\jre
3 On UNIX computers only, enter: setenv DISPLAY terminal_IP_address
4 Start the orbconfigure GUI with one of the following commands:
[UNIX] orbconfigure
[Windows] orbconfigure.vbs

Hi Friend,

Thank you. Now i am able to open orbconfigure.vbs in my system and given fully qualified domain name. But still i am facing the same problem. We are having more than 10,000 jobs in AJF. I am able to log into the EM, but when i open the view point with "date" after filtering 1000 jobs the client is getting disconnected from GUI server and again trying to connect the server. Where as when i use dynamic filter and open only few jobs say 100, these 100 jobs are able to open.

My Question is for this type of problems BANDwidth is considered?

regards,
Ricky

Isnt it a problem on your EM Client site?
I remembert, that there was a Knowledge Base for this case of 'em gui reconnecting openig viewpoint' - search for something like that.

I faced it maybe 3 times and the solution was to configure client site.

the same problem

Post by th_alejandro » 29 Apr 2009 1:08

One upon a time... i has the same problem. In my case, the diagnostic was 'low memory'. I pass from 1Mb Ram to 3Mb Ram in my personal portatil PC. The problem was partially resolved, but ocasionaly appears again this disconection. Then, i increase the size of Virtual Memory of Windows XP, from 1024 to 8192Kb and my GUI works fine. More than 10000 jobs, many machine resources consumed when connect, retrieve and display gui. :D

Hi,

1) Did you have checked the 'gateway log' for particular messages?
2) Try to increase these parameters

On Control-M/EM server:

a) Navigate to '$HOME/appl/ecs.1.2/resource' as Control-M/EM administrator
b) In file 'Defaults.rsc' change the value 'max_ws_queue_size' to 2097152

On your Windows station:

a) Open CCM --> Tools --> System Parameters --> Control-M/EM System Parameters
b) Search in Type 'gtw' the parameter 'MaxUploadBuffersMPM' --> Double-Click --> Change the value to 2097152
c) From CCM recycle Gateway and GUI server

If NOTOK return to the previus values
I used these values on the past for a situation that was very similar to yours in V 6.1.03
Best regards
Walty

I had a similar issue last week. We rebooted the Windows 2003 server and it fixed the issue.
