BUG in Control-M/Desktop 6.4.01 - request for confirmation!

Post by Dilbert » 04 Dec 2008 9:48

Hello all,

Yesterday I discover something interesting and I need confirmations from you before opening a ticket at BMC.

Configuration:
Control-M 6.4.01. (EM, Server and Agent installed on the same mashine, Windows 2003 Server R2 Enterprise Edition, SP1)
Forecast - installed
BIM - installed

Created 3 tables, with jobs in them.
Then I wanted to "convert" that tables into Scheduling groups, so I created new scheduling group and copied jobs inside (editing required parrameters in job editing form).
After that, saved those jobs in XML format.

Now... close all existing drafts in Desktop and try to open XML file created above. Can you open it? I can't. Desktop remain empty, with "Draft1" text in Title bar.

Please, test it by yourself, and post here your results. Thanks.

Hi Dilbert

I tested it.
That's true, There is somethings wrong in XML file.
No Scheduling Group information has been saved.
If you have jobs in a normal group, everything run correctly.

I already tested to open XML file saved from exportdeftable, and everything run correctly.

Here is a bug ....

BMC confirmed it yesterday:

"Bug confirmed, awaiting a formal reference number for it.
In the meantime the best advice we can give is for you to create groups via the "normal" method."
