Hi Walty, Yep, that certainly classifies as a good example of a "more complex" solution that I mentioned :-) Note that there is overhead in resolving the Autoedit variables and performing the On Statements, and these would have to be created/resolved for each unique Job that has a similar requiremen...

Hi Sharas, (As politely as I can say it - RTFM  ) The (Control-M/Server and Control-M/Agent) Installation Guide specifically mentions that a "..non-interactive (silent) installation and upgrade procedure is also available for CONTROL-M/Agent for Microsoft Windows..". Look for the section titled...

Hi JoPoCME, Nicolas is correct. You cannot connect a v6.4.01 GUI Client to the v7.0.00 GUI Server. (This holds true for ALL versions of Control-M/EM). But you can: a). have a side-by-side installation as suggested (uninstalling v6.4.01 at a later stage when it is no longer needed), or b). use Web-La...

Hi Rajeev, BMC Software has an Education arm. They regularly offer training for Control-M. You can see more (i.e. for your country, etc.) from their web-site - http://www.bmc.com/education. (This includes the ability to get Certification). Other good sources of "education" for Control-M include: - r...

Hi Steve, This is something to do with the SQL Agent. To be sure that it is not Control-M you could add another 5-minute Cyclic Job to run next to the SQL Agent Job that just does a sleep or at least something to hit the OS (i.e. hostname, etc.) - do NOT use a Dummy Job as this does NOT go to the OS...

Hi Vencat, You need Control-M v6.4.01 (or higher). With this version you will be able to specify the specific run-times for the Job - not just Cyclic Intervals. See CAR00033221 in the Release Notes at http://documents.bmc.com/supportu/documents/77/38/87738/Output/09186a33805c2dc6.htm If you cannot g...

Hi Fang, This is quite a strange request (as the recommendation is to fix your return codes!), but here goes. At the start of the first Job you need to set a Global Autoedit variable to a value from the Operating system representing the "POSIX date" (i.e. the number of seconds since 1970). At the en...

Hi Breakfix, The Control-M/Agent is not able to talk back to the Control-M/Server after receiving the Job - therefore the Control-M/Server could not perform the Post-Processing (i.e. Conditions, etc.) in order for the Successor Jobs to start. The Hold/Free initiates communication between the Control...
