ctmdbbck utility on postgresql database
Hi, In the Control-M user manual, it mentions that the ctmdbbck utility in silent mode is : ctmdbbck -pmanager / -f<passwordFile> -d<backupDirectory> - m<H/C> Can someone please assist with the format of the password file for this command? It doesn't say what the format of the password file is. Than...

Is there a way to Convert only job definitions from v8 to v9
Hi, Was wondering if anyone has exported ONLY job definitions on version 8 and then import it into version 9, without having to export everything else ? There probably needs to be a conversion somewhere, to be able to import it into version 9? But I'm not sure if it can be done or not... any help is...

Re: Control-M for Database - Variable value as an exit code
Hi Juliano You can set up your stored proc to have input and output parameters... and in the job definition GUI screen, set your variables, under the 'Variable' column. The output of the stored proc, will be stored in that variable name that you give it. You can then use that variable name in an ON ...

Availability detection messages in control-m server log
This is the agent on the Control-M server itself. So, the agent is also v 6.3.01 with fixpack4 and it has AFT CM installed. The jobs are working and connectivity is okay. Running ag_diag_comm shows everything is connected and available... That's why i'm not sure why this NS timedout messages keep ap...

AFT v. 7 - Filewatcher variable $$WATCH_ALLn$$
Hi, I was wondering if anyone has used the AFT module v. 7 ? I'm trying to work out from the manual guide on how to utilise these variables in particular: $$WATCH_ALLn$$ $$WATCH_NAMEn$$ $$WATCH_EXTn$$ Been testing some scenarios using the filewatcher variables above, but it is not working for me som...

"...found a potential memory leak" error in SL log
Hi, I was wondering if anyone has encountered "potential memory leak" error in their SL logs. This message constantly gets written to the logs every couple of minutes... here is an extract of it: 0224 09:24:59.14 SL: PP_OUT_exec: DB_ExecSelect(rowBuffer=1053a8, rowbufNumberOfAllocs=11) - found a pot...

Filewatcher in Windows panel vs Filewatcher for AFT panel
Hi,
Does anyone know whether there is a filename varibale for the windows filewatcher that we can set, to use for the next job?
For example, the AFT module has the option to use autoedit variable for the detected filename.
But, for Windows, I don't see that option.
Thanks.
regards
Sharon

How to change Urgency of an Alert Message that is generated
Hi,
I was wondering if anyone knows whether it is possible to change the Urgency of a System generated alert message that pops up on the Alerts window -
i.e. DATA CENTER <name> WAS DISCONNECTED.
It is currently defaulted to 'Very Urgent', and we need it to be 'Urgent'.
Thanks.

Thanks Nicolas for your reply. I have tried RERUNNO in the on statement. It only captures the count of the RERUNNO - it doesn't know how to determine if the rerun was successful or not. I guess I need a combination of the two. If it's RERUNNO=3 AND it ended NOTOK, then Do Shout. Because, if it's a R...

Is there a way to Do NOTOK, only on the last rerun attempt
Hi, Just wondering if anyone has come across this scenario. I have a job that does an automatic rerun when it encounters an exit code of 3. The job has a max rerun of 3. Is it possible to do the following without adding new jobs: On the last rerun, if it fails - do shout. On the last rerun, if it is...
